Alex Montero Vásquez

Co-founder & Leadership CoachSultant, Costa Rica

Alex Montero Vásquez is an eclectic professional with more than 30 years of experience combining engineering, leadership, innovation, creative gastronomy, music, and human development. His integrative approach—uniting technical rigour, strategic thinking, applied creativity, and human insight—positions him as a distinctive facilitator in transformation processes, leadership development, and the creation of new products and services.

He is an Electrical Engineer and Electronic Engineer, holds an MBA from the University of Costa Rica, a Master’s in Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Barcelona. This strong multidisciplinary background forms the foundation of his Eclectic Leadership approach, a style that blends different disciplines to connect leadership, innovation, and productivity in a practical and measurable way.

BOHÈME: The Origin of Everything (2008–2023)

In 2008, after a 15-year career in technology, telecommunications, and management, Alex made a transformative shift: he left the corporate world to reinvent himself as a Culinary Artist. This is how BOHÈME was born—his first major disruptive venture and the creative laboratory that would become the cornerstone of his entire professional model.

BOHÈME began as a premium catering service specialising in paellas, tapas/pinxtos, and grill experiences, quickly recognised for its gastronomic creativity and artisanal approach. In 2013, after the transformative experience of Madrid Fusión and learning the philosophy of Ferran Adrià and El Bulli, Alex took the project to a new level by creating BOHÈME Escenario, an open and private kitchen concept for exclusive experiences and executive gatherings.

In 2015, he expanded the project into the corporate world with Gastronomic Team Buildings, using cooking as a tool to improve integration, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. These activities—along with themed experiences such as Mardi Gras, La AntiCata, Livin’ la Vida Tapa, or The Sins of Meat, Charcoal, and Fire—established BOHÈME as a space where creativity, collaboration, and innovation were lived in a tangible way.

After 15 years leading this project, in 2023 Alex closed his culinary chapter to evolve toward innovation and leadership, using everything learned in BOHÈME to create ThinkInCANVAS and to lead Leadership Management International (LMI) in Costa Rica.

BOHÈME was not just a business: it was the starting point, the spark, the place where his methodologies, philosophies, and models of innovation, leadership, and productivity were born.

Leadership, Innovation & Productivity

Alex is the Franchise Owner & Facilitator of Leadership Management International (LMI) in Costa Rica, where he supports executives, leaders, and organisations in implementing the LMI Total Leader® Concept. His focus is on increasing productivity, developing high-performance leaders, and establishing measurable processes that transform habits, culture, and results.

He is the creator of Innovation Business Models, combining frameworks such as Eclectic Leadership, Mind Hacking, Blue Ocean Strategy, Disruptive Innovation, Business Model Generation, applied artificial intelligence, and strategic design to build innovative, profitable, and scalable business models. His vision connects innovation with structure, creativity with data, and leadership with execution.

At the same time, he leads The Leadership TeamBuilding, a corporate experience that fuses gastronomy, creative thinking, and leadership dynamics. Through collaborative cooking and leadership-innovation models, the programme generates tangible results in integration, communication, trust, conflict resolution, and team cohesion—particularly at managerial and C-level ranks.

Languages, Global Mindset & Academic Projection

Alex is bilingual in Spanish and English, speaks conversational French (on his way to full fluency, especially for business in the French-speaking Caribbean), and will begin formal Mandarin studies at UNED in January 2026.

With long-term strategic vision, Alex plans to begin a doctorate in 2030 to expand his research in leadership, innovation, and productivity and to bring his eclectic model to an international academic platform.

Creative Ventures: His Two Lungs
Beyond his professional life, Alex leads two projects that represent spaces for expression, experimentation, and inspiration:

  • BOHÈME Culinary Artistry — his first major creative and emotional laboratory, birthplace of the methodologies he now uses in his programmes.

  • El Gato Tuerto — his blues, rock, and funk music project, where he explores performance creativity, improvisation, and the crafting of artistic experiences.

Both spaces recharge his energy, nourish his creative thinking, and keep alive his multidisciplinary essence.

Professional Purpose
